On an Adobe Spark kick

If you didn’t notice from my last few posts, I have been on a bit of an Adobe Spark video kick.  This stems directly from my DigiComm classroom.  Last week, my students made fun videos about themselves using Adobe Spark video. This was their first video project and I found Adobe Spark to be a great transitional program to ease them into multimedia projects because:

  • Adobe connects straight to their Google accounts, streamlining access to their own media
  • There are many examples and templates to help them get started
  • The pop-up tutorials are just the right length for teenage attention spans
  • The user interface is super friendly
  • The format resembles that of a slideshow
  • And best of all, it is FREE!

Here is the example video I made for my students with random facts about myself.

Overall, the students had fun learning to make their first video without hesitation.  When it came time to wrap up the 2-day assignment,  the students were a little shy about seeing their work projected on the screen but that quickly wore off and we enjoyed a day of watching, applauding and learning from each other’s videos.
